Live interactive workshop: Tuesday 17 March, 4.30–6pm

The online workshops are designed to be interactive with cameras and microphones on. Attendance will be needed on the day and the sessions will not be recorded.

Effective transitions can foster resilience and adaptability and help children to navigate changes throughout their lives.
This interactive workshop, with opportunities to chat with colleagues in breakout rooms and for discussion with the presenter, is aimed at anyone working with children in ELC.

It will explore how stories, songs and rhymes can be used as a powerful tool to strengthen partnership working, support effective planning, ensure that families and children feel informed, confident and well supported when transitioning from nursery to primary 1 and help children understand and manage big – and little – changes they’ll experience in their early years setting.

Learning Objectives

  • How to use stories, songs and rhymes to help build effective partnerships with colleagues, schools, families and the wider community
  • Use picture books to support understanding, confidence, wellbeing and resilience during transition
  • Confidently plan and delivery an inclusive transition approach using stories, songs and rhymes
