Each monthly subscription purchased helps us deliver more of our work and we gift books to families and communities all over Scotland. With your support, everyone in Scotland can access the life-changing benefits of reading and writing.

Please note we recommend this book subscription for readers aged 18+ as some books selected may have content and themes not suitable for younger readers.

How it works

Choose your subscription
Enjoy three or six months of books, or keep the stories coming with a rolling monthly subscription.

Monthly subscription:

1. Sign up and pay for your first month
2. Your first book will be delivered by the 15th of the following month.
3. After that, your card will be charged on the 1st of each month. We’ll email you a reminder before each payment.
4. You'll receive your book by the 15th of each month
5. Manage your subscription at any time through your Scottish Book Trust Online Shop account

3 or 6 months of books:

1. Select the subscription length and pay the full amount upfront
2. You will receive a book every month for your chosen length of time.
