James Robertson is one of Scotland’s most versatile and best-loved authors, but more than that, he's a lifelong reader of good books. Join him on a tour of titles he has read more than once and intends to read again, whether you’re a confident reader or a beginner hoping to get into classics.

Discover cracking stories, enduring questions about how to live in the world that are still relevant today, voices that sing from the pages of history and stay with you, and modern classics to make you look at Scotland in new and unexpected ways – all in (mostly!) short reads of between 200-300 pages.

Whether you want to try something new, expand your reading horizons or find more books with #booktok classics energy, there’s something here for you. Perfect for fans of I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman, I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy, and non-fiction by Robert Macfarlane.

Please note that we recommend this book subscription for adults, aged 18 and over, as the books selected contain adult themes and content.
