Landscapes of Hope and Inspiration – Event Ticket
Location: The Fruitmarket, 45 Market Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1DF
Date: Monday 18 November 2024
Time: 7–8.30pm
Living in a turbulent world, with conflict and climate emergency saturating the media, how and where do artists find the inspiration and the hope to create new works – to write new stories, to compose and play new music and to make new pieces?
Join this unique conversation for Book Week Scotland, with three of Scotland’s best contemporary artists – visual artist Julie Brook, writer Linda Cracknell and musician and composer Duncan Chisholm – exploring their relationship to the landscapes that nurture, inform and animate their work. How do the places that matter to them inform their creative process? What do they respond to in the environment, what is there to treasure, what does their work seek to capture? How does making art in Scotland’s rich and varied landscapes enable them find hope for the future?
This promises to be an unforgettable event to light the dark depths of a Scottish November night and the winter beyond!
Accessibility:
The event will take place in the café/bookshop area with the entry being through the occasional event entrance marked on the building map in the Fruitmarket accessibility page.
